Modular Tree or MTree is a node-based tree-generation addon/extension for Blender. It does not use Geometry Nodes. Instead, the addon implements its own node system specifically designed for tree creation.
Modular Tree was first introduced as a free Blender addon but it was later abandoned by the original creator. Since then multiple forks have kept it alive and working with the latest Blender releases.
Currently MTree is available on the Blender extensions platform. The easiest way to get it is directly from Blender: Edit > Preferences > Extensions > Search for “Mtree”.

There are several forks of this addon. This repository also seems to be up-to-date (4.5 as of this writing).
