Description
Rigify helps automate the setup of character rigs in Blender. It is based around a building-block approach, where you build complete rigs out of smaller rig parts (e.g. arms, legs, spines, fingers, etc.).
The default building blocks fully cover the rigging of of organic characters such as humanoids, animals and even unusual creatures.
Certain rigs, such as mechanical systems and vehicles may be difficult to generate using Rigify. However, the addon allows you to integrate custom riggings along with the automated ones. Therefore, ultimately any type of rig can be achieved.
Rigify also operates on the principle that once a rig is generated, it no longer needs the addon to be active. This means that you can distribute rigs created with Rigify and the rigs will still function completely.
Rigify is powerful but its workflow may be difficult to grasp at first and there are common pitfalls that most users experience initially. To get started, please watch the tutorials provided below.

What is “Rigify Pitchipoy”?
Another term you may still hear occasionally is the “Pitchipoy” version of Rigify. Pitchipoy is a company who was involved in updating Rigify some years ago. These updates have now been fully integrated into Rigify and there have been additional improvements on top of that.
So there is no need to look for the Pitchipoy version. Just download the latest Blender version; and it will contain the latest version of Rigify.
